El papa Francisco lanzó este domingo un vibrante llamado a los jóvenes del mundo para que se resistan ante aquellos que quieren “hacerles callar”, un día después de las masivas manifestaciones contra las armas en Estados Unidos.
El pontífice lanzó este llamado en la Plaza San Pedro durante la misa de domingo de Ramos -el domingo anterior a Pascua- y con motivo del Día de la Juventud.
“Hacer callar a los jóvenes es una tentación que siempre existió”, dijo el papa argentino.
“Hay muchas maneras de hacer que los jóvenes sean silenciosos e invisibles. (…) para que no se interroguen y no cuestionen”.
Jorge Bergoglio recordó entonces unas palabras de Jesús sobre discípulos que eran ruidosos y exuberantes. “Si ellos se callan, las piedras gritarán”.
“Queridos jóvenes les corresponde a ustedes decidir” insistió el papa. “Si los demás se callan, si nosotros, los mayores y los responsables, muy a menudo corruptos, somos silenciosos, si el mundo se calla y pierde la alegría, les pido: ustedes ¿van a gritar? Por favor, por favor, decídanse antes de que las piedras griten”.
El papa Francisco no aludió sin embargo de forma directa a las manifestaciones contra las armas que congregaron a cientos de miles de personas el sábado en Estados Unidos.
